Red wine cuvée from Vins Nadal from D.O. Binissalem: the island variety Manto Negro, supplemented with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. Matured for 18 months in American and French oak. Dark forest fruits, liquorice, and clove meet vanilla and smoke. Powerful, balsamic, mineral on the finish.
Character
Cherry red with a dark, ruby rim, clear and bright. Intense on the nose, with ripe wild berries, black cherry, and cassis, alongside spicy notes of licorice and clove over a mineral base. Underneath, vanilla, cinnamon, and a subtle smokiness. On the palate, a rich, balsamic opening with well-integrated acidity, fruit, and toasted notes. The finish is mineral, spicy, and elegant.
Vinification
A cuvée of Manto Negro, Mallorca's indigenous red grape variety, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The wine matures for 18 months in American and French oak barrels. The combination of the two types of oak gives it sweet, spicy notes on the one hand, and structure and finesse on the other. A wine from the D.O. Binissalem, where the island variety meets international grape varieties.
Food Pairing
A wine for hearty meat dishes. It pairs well with a grilled beef steak or roast leg of lamb, as well as with braised game or a savory Mallorcan sobrassada pasta. It also makes a good accompaniment to aged sheep cheese.
