Character
A deep cherry red with a ruby rim, clear and brilliant in the glass. The nose reveals the typical character of Manto Negro: mineral notes, fruit liqueur, and dark forest fruits, especially cassis. Underlying these are the influences of barrel aging: vanilla, roasted coffee bean, chocolate, and a fine cigar note, all well integrated. On the palate, it is elegant, dense, and fruity, with a long, flavorful finish.
Vinification
Pure Manto Negro from the heart of the D.O. Binissalem, Mallorca's indigenous red grape variety. After fermentation, the wine matures for 18 months in 300-liter French oak barrels. This larger barrel format gives the wine structure and toasted aromas without overpowering the fruit. Vins Nadal is one of the oldest wineries on the island, and this wine demonstrates what Manto Negro can become with patience and good oak.
Food Pairing
A wine for rich meat dishes. It pairs equally well with grilled entrecôte or lamb chops, as it does with braised beef cheeks or Mallorcan frit. It also cuts a fine figure with aged hard cheeses like Manchego Curado.
